Academic/Professional Experience and Achievements: 

Charlotte Steinorth joined the Legal Studies Department as Assistant Professor in 2012. She holds a law and a political science degree from the Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris II) and an LLM degree and a PhD from the London School of Economics. During her doctoral studies she was recipient of the Olive Stone Memorial Scholarship. From 2008-2011 Charlotte was a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg, Germany and an editor of the Max Planck Encyclopedia of Public International Law. She previously taught public international law and international human rights law at the London School of Economics. Charlotte’s research focuses on human rights protection and democratization. She also has an interest in international legal theory and the interface of international law and international relations.
