This course provides an introduction to different concepts of privacy in the field of biotechnology. Though the legal scope of the right to privacy is in itself highly contested, this course can be considered as a pioneer by analyzing privacy in the field of new technologies. Subsequent to the completion of the human genome project, new emerging technologies; such as biobanks, reprogenetics, stem cell research, neurosciences, nanotechnology require innovative assessment of privacy rights vis-à-vis the new challenges.
